Transport UK London Bus has appointed Paul Hennigan to the position of Fleet and Facilities Director. He is to join the business in September from Go-Ahead Group subsidiary Oxford Bus Company.

Mr Hennigan will manage the Transport UK London Bus fleet and facilities teams. He will bring over 25 years’ bus industry experience to that role, having opened his career as an apprentice mechanic in Oxford during 1998.

Following completion of that apprenticeship, Mr Hennigan took on his first engineering management responsibilities in 2009 and then moved to a General Manager position in 2013. A year later he was elevated to Head of Operations with Oxford Bus Company, managing operational teams and drivers.

From there, he became Operations Director in 2018 and Service and Delivery Director in 2019, which brought responsibility for operations and engineering. In that sphere he led major infrastructure and fleet change, including the delivery of around 100 battery-electric buses to the operator.

That most recent achievement sits well with Transport UK London Bus’s trajectory towards a zero-emission fleet, supporting “continued growth in London and across the business’s rail replacement services,” it says.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr Hennigan says: “I am incredibly excited to join a truly innovative business leading the way in EV technology. Transport UK London Bus is a sector leader with a diverse and collaborative workplace. I am delighted to join the business and support the fleet and facilities teams to achieve further success.”

Adds Managing Director Jon Eardley: “We are delighted that Paul is joining Transport UK London Bus as the business continues to grow at pace.

“Paul’s extensive experience leading engineering and operations teams is invaluable as we increase our sector-leading EV fleet and gain more routes.”
