Trolex Aporta, a global supplier of digital on-board services, is targeting the UK’s coach and bus sector with its Juxta product, which is a closed-network solution that delivers infotainment directly to passengers’ mobile devices.
The company says that Juxta will not only revolutionise long journeys, but it will also enable operators to generate new revenue streams, collect information and cut data roaming costs.
The powerful Juxta device uses a wi-fi intranet to enable passengers to stream digital content and service to their device via a web browser or custom app.
It gives access to movies, box sets, the latest travel information and more from an on-board server without any connectivity failure or buffering delays.
“Juxta digital on-board services are cost-effective and provide opportunities for operators to create new revenue streams,” says Trolex Aporta Commercial Director Dave Sampson.
By diverting passengers’ activity from the internet to the Juxta service, operators can also market new products, monetise premium content such as the latest movies and enable pre-booking of hotels, tourist trips and restaurants.
Revenue can be earned from targeted advertising such as banners or pre-roll clips.
