Connexions Buses of Tockwith in North Yorkshire was among the first operators to place a 74-plate vehicle onto the road. Its second Volvo B8RLE with MCV Evora bodywork carrying such a registration saw use promptly on 1 September.

The newcomer follows an earlier B8RLE Evora delivered around 18 months ago. Managing Director Craig Temple says that the initial bus “has performed really well” over 90,000 miles since delivery, working a route in Leeds and rail replacement duties.

Mr Temple adds that the MCV body has proved to be of a high quality. The latest delivery is a 12.1m example with 45 seats that include three-point belts. It also has the necessary equipment in readiness for compliance with the accessible information regulations that come into force soon.

The first day of September saw the bus taken to the Battle of Marston Moor Monument near Connexions Buses’ base for a photoshoot.
