The site is currently being prepared, for opening in December

The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC), located on Canwick Hill in Lincoln, will open its visitor attraction in December.

The centre will be free to enter and there will be easy set-down and pick-up points with six coach parking bays, and drivers will receive free refreshments.

It will open six days a week 0930-1700hrs, closed Mondays, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

During the Second World War, over one million men and women served or supported Bomber Command. They came from 62 nations across the world, and included aircrew, ground crew, the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force, Auxiliary Air Transport, NAAFFI, and many others.

The Walls of Names at the IBCC carry the names of 57,861 people who gave their lives.

Bomber Command suffered the highest losses of any unit during the Second World War, but has struggled for recognition.

The International Bomber Command Centre is a fitting tribute to all those that served.
