SHM Travel of Prestwick in Ayrshire has taken delivery of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with high specification coachbuilt Grand Tourer bodywork, supplied by EVM UK.
It is a 19-seater with space for a courier. Each position has a three-point belt, leather upholstery and diamond stitching, while passengers also get folding armrests on the aisle side, drop-down tables with an iPod slot, and magazine nets.
Wood-effect flooring is part of the specification along with an Indel fridge under the dash and a PA system. A 17-inch monitor is part of the entertainment provision that incorporates a USB input and saloon speakers within the passenger service units.
Panoramic side windows and windscreen are fitted. The former have brushed aluminium interior capping, while the latter has twin roller blinds.
At the rear is a large boot with a vertically elevating door that is powered and with gas struts. It operates via a dash switch and a button within the luggage storage area, which has a 2.8 cubic metre capacity. Twin side lockers are also fitted.
Climate control is from a combination of an OEM in-dash air-conditioning unit and a 15.5kW Webasto system that is roof-mounted. Convector heaters are fitted along the full length of the saloon.
Colour-coded bumpers, mouldings, grille and side skirts are complemented by the customary EVM chrome styling package, and the SHM Travel vehicle also has a cherished registration mark.
