Warrington’s Own Buses reaffirmed its commitment to staff wellbeing by hosting its annual health and wellbeing event in honour of World Health Day.

Local health partners gathered at the operator’s Dallam Lane depot on 4 April to offer physical and mental support to staff.

The event is part of the company’s strategy to encourage healthier lifestyles and health management among its workforce.

LiveWire, Warrington’s community health provider, was on site to offer free health checks, including blood pressure and heart rate assessments, alongside general wellbeing guidance. Support for smoking cessation was also a central theme, with trained professionals offering resources and personalised advice to help staff take steps towards quitting.

This year also saw the involvement of Warrington Wolves Foundation, which provided targeted mental health support to staff members. The organisation emphasised the importance of open dialogue around workplace mental health, a topic that is gaining more traction across the sector.

Says Mike Tickle, Training and Wellbeing Coordinator at Warrington’s Own Buses: “We’re committed to supporting our staff in every way we can, and this World Health Day event was all about encouraging healthy lifestyles, mental wellbeing, and providing real support where it matters.  It was a great day and we’re thankful to the organisations that attended for their support.”

The event concluded with a staff raffle featuring high street vouchers and signed Warrington Wolves merchandise.
