The Association of Local Bus Managers (ALBUM) is celebrating a sell-out 2025 Conference after the event drew over 400 delegates to the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham for three days.
Speakers included Local Transport Minister Simon Lightwood MP and Mayor of East Midlands Claire Ward, alongside a diverse roster of industry voices that included David Leeder, Jason Prince, Louise Collins, Guillaume Chanussot, Alex Warner, Roger French, Caroline Wilson, and Alison Edwards. Topics ranged from policy and planning to innovation, operations and technology.
An accompanying vehicle showcase presented a varied fleet from Nottingham City Transport (NCT), Pelican Bus and Coach, Wrightbus, EVM UK, Alexander Dennis, Mellow Bus, and the Nottingham Heritage Vehicles Charity. The exhibition space hosted more than 50 suppliers offering delegates access to the latest technology, products, and services.
The conference also raised £8,000 for MAggie’s Nottingham through a silent auction held at the Gala Dinner, bolstered by a charitable donation from Curry and Quiz Night winners InSol Recruitment.
Recognition was given during the dinner to longstanding contributors to ALBUM, with Bill Hiron, Tony Depledge, and John Clarfelt receiving tributes for their service as they step down from key roles.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with delegates praising the conference’s organisation, venue, and networking opportunities.
David Astill, NCT Managing Director and ALBUM Chair, says: “The ALBUM Conference is an established event in the annual calendar for the bus industry and goes from strength to strength. The support from both delegates and suppliers has been tremendous for which the ALBUM team is very grateful. I think all who attended would have been impressed by the speakers, the venue and the overall organisation and I offer my personal thanks to all who contributed and especially the team at NCT who put this event together.”
ALBUM has confirmed that its 2026 conference will take place in Blackpool, 11-13 May.
