Plymouth Citybus is a further Go-Ahead Group business to agree a partnership with FlixBus to deliver scheduled coach services on behalf of the travel technology specialist.
The operator will take delivery of two Yutong GT12s as part of FlixBus’s ongoing UK network expansion. Those vehicles will enter service in the spring and bring express coach work to Plymouth Citybus for the first time, notes Managing Director Richard Stevens (pictured).
“It is clear that FlixBus is the leader in the coach sector, offering a dynamic approach to the industry, and we are beyond excited to be coming on board,” he adds. The operator is part of the wider Go South West business, which has 400 vehicles and around 1,000 staff.
FlixBus Vice-President of West Europe Andreas Schörling comments: “Partnering with Plymouth Citybus enhances our network with a fantastic new operator and allows us to deliver more sustainable travel options and economic growth for the country.
“The response to our UK expansion has been overwhelmingly positive from customers, and we have a clear strategy to grow our network significantly in 2026, increasing capacity on key corridors as well as opening up new routes.”
Other Go-Ahead operators that are committed to FlixBus include Go South Coast subsidiary Excelsior Coaches, which took up those duties in 2025, and Spirit of Sussex Coaches, which is part of Brighton and Hove Buses and Metrobus.
Its participation was announced days before news of Plymouth Citybus’s involvement, with the Spirit of Sussex entry also to see the larger Yutong GT14 tri-axle coach model make its debut on the FlixBus network.
