York City Council has selected a bidder to run its park-and-ride services, which it will put to councillors for approval, after which the selected operator will be named.
The deal falls short of an all-electric network, but will include three new electric double-deckers plus 11 electric single-deckers. The council will also have to pay £85,000 a year, rather than taking profits as it currently does.
