Almost £10,000 was raised for charity at the Confederation of Passenger Transport North West Region Dinner Dance, held in Liverpool on 12 January.
The money will go to good causes in Halton and the wider area, as selected by Anthony’s Travel Managing Partner Richard Bamber. Mr Bamber soon steps down as regional chair following a two-year tenure.
Chosen as beneficiaries were The Cathie Stankevitch Foundation, Halton Haven, Macmillan Cancer Support, Nightstop Communities North West and the Stroke Association.
Says Mr Bamber: “Anthony’s Travel is well-known for our award-winning community ethos and our support for local charities and good causes. I thought it would be fitting to back charities from within our own region that benefit our passengers and our own teams.”
A member of Anthony’s staff has received support from Macmillan, so at the event Mr Bamber arranged for a pair of boxing gloves signed by fighter Tony Bellew to be auctioned, raising a further £900.
