Nigel and Kim’s Tours of Westbury has placed into service what is the 600th Irizar integral coach supplied to the UK market by dealership Irizar UK. It is a 14m, tri-axle i6S Efficient and replaces an i6 integral dating from 2015 as the business’s only vehicle.
The newcomer is finished to a high specification, like the earlier coach. It seats 42, with each position having leather trim and a footrest along with a magazine holder and a drop-down table. USB charging points are provided along with blue aisle lights, while a rear servery has been supplied by AD Coach Systems.
Externally, the coach comes equipped with extra-tinted windows and it carries Nigel and Kim’s Tours’ distinctive livery that includes a graduated paint shade along with chrome vinyls. Cantrail downlights are also fitted, along with Irizar’s rear-view camera system in place of mirrors.
Drive is from the DAF MX-13 engine that develops 530bhp and 2,600Nm of torque, making it the most powerful engine available in a new coach on the UK market. That unit drives through a ZF Traxon 12-speed automated manual gearbox.
Speaking about the new coach, Irizar UK Sales Director Julie Hartley says: “I am delighted that Nigel and Kim Westbrook have returned to Irizar UK for this latest purchase.
“An owner-operators, spending many weeks a year on tour in Europe and the UK, it is essential that the Westbrooks have confidence in the aftersales support that we offer. I know that they value this very much, having built strong relationships with the team, and that it has been a key factor in selecting another Irizar integral.”
The i6S Efficient range debuted in 2022. Multiple measures have been incorporated by the manufacturer to deliver a claimed 13% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. That includes a reduction in drag, assisted by the rear-view cameras, and the removal of over 900kg of weight.
