Safeguard Coaches has taken delivery of a pair of Volvo B8Rs with Plaxton Leopard bodywork, supplied by Alexander Dennis.
They were handed over during the Guildford operator’s 100th birthday celebrations earlier this year. A bespoke anniversary livery is carried by the Leopard pair and each seats 70 passengers in a 3+2 layout.
PSVAR compliance has been specified and the newcomers join three existing Leopards, as well as two Plaxton Panther coaches that were delivered in 2021. Power in the new Leopards comes from the Volvo D8K engine coupled to the ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
Plaxton products have long played an important role in the Safeguard Coaches fleet. The latest Leopards will be used on services and hires provided for schools.
