Saltburn-by-the-Sea operator Coatham Coaches has added two Irizar integrals to its fleet, supplied by Irizar UK.
One is an i6S Efficient (pictured) and the other is an i4. Both are 12.9m, two-axle models, with the i4 carrying 70 passengers in a 3+2 layout and the i6S Efficient 53. Each coach has the DAF MX-11 engine, with that in the i4 developing 367bhp and in the i6S Efficient 408bhp. In both cases drive is taken via a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
Amenities in the i4 include three-point belts, while a Masats lift is integrated into the nearside centre door and stairwell to deliver PSVAR compliance when coupled to other fitments including Hanover destination displays.
The Irizar i6S Efficient for Coatham Coaches comes with drop-down tables, multi-position footrests, and USB charging points. It has a centre sunken toilet, a drinks machine, and a Bosch Smart Series audio-visual entertainment system coupled to Actia monitors.
PSVAR readiness has been specified on the i6S Efficient integral, including the fitment of Hanover destination displays. That will permit straightforward full conversion later and protect the coach’s residual value. It also has a camera monitoring system in place of conventional mirrors.
