D&E Coaches of Inverness has added two more Enviro400 double-deck buses to its fleet, supplied by Alexander Dennis.
They join a pair of earlier examples and an Enviro200 single-decker that were delivered to the 64-strong fleet in 2022. Each of the new Enviro400s has 85 SmartSeats that include three-point belts, allowing their use on a varied workstream including scheduled routes, private hire and cruise ship shuttles.
Also part of the specification is wood effect flooring and a public address and music system with saloon speakers.
Speaking about the further delivery, D&E Coaches Managing Director Donald Mathieson (pictured, left) says: “We were looking for vehicles that can be used on a variety of work while offering high capacity at a reasonable price.
“The Enviro400 from Alexander Dennis ticked all these boxes for us, and the new buses are settling well into our fleet alongside the similar vehicles we bought last year, getting great feedback from our customers.”
Adds Alexander Dennis Retail Sales Director Charlie Miller (pictured, right): “We have been delighted to win this order, which represents a huge investment for this respected family business. It has been a pleasure to deal with Donald and set this delivery up effortlessly and quickly.
“With our other vehicles in the fleet, D&E Coaches is already familiar with our great AD24 aftermarket and finds it very easy to access all our support through AD24’s digital portal.”
