The two new Optare Solos for Garelochhead Coaches are to a high spec

Helensburgh-based Garelochhead Coaches has taken delivery of two 30-seat Solos, supplied by Optare (01977 687200).

Joining nine other Solos, including two zero-emission Solo EVs, they each have a Euro 5 Daimler engine coupled to an Allison 2100 gearbox.

They will be used on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport on routes in Loch Lomondside.

Says MD Stuart McQueen : “Garelochhead Coaches has operated Solos for many years. The latest vehicles are of a size that permits ease of operation in both residential urban areas and more remote rural locations.

“But they still have an excellent passenger capacity and thus they are perfect for our routes.”

The new Solos are low carbon certified and they have wood-effect floors and white LED destination displays.
