Golden Boy Coaches has taken delivery of a second Irizar i6S Efficient integral, supplied by Irizar UK. It is the 19th integral that the dealership has supplied to the Hoddesdon operator since 2014.
The newcomer is a 12.9m two-axle example that seats 57. Each position has a magazine holder, a drop-down table, and a USB charging point. Also fitted are a centre sunken toilet and a drinks machine, along with an integrated vacuum cleaner.
Entertainment comes from a Bosch Smart Series audio-visual system and an Actia DVD player coupled to two monitors. The driver and courier seats are upholstered in leather and the coach comes with PSVAR readiness to allow straightforward conversion later.
Power is from the DAF MX-11 engine developing 367bhp coupled to a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox. External LED lighting is fitted, while the coach has been named Master River in the Golden Boy tradition.
It also has Irizar’s rear-view camera system. That contributes to a reduction in drag and a gain in fuel efficiency, alongside lightweighting work done by the manufacturer on the i6S Efficient.
As the second i6S Efficient integral to join Golden Boy Coaches, the two-axle example follows a 13.2m tri-axle model that was supplied earlier in 2023. That vehicle was the first of the type to be delivered to a UK operator after the i6S Efficient was launched in 2022.
