Two new battery-powered e-paper public transport information displays from Papercast have introduced a battery life of over three years, the supplier says. Such endurance has concurrently been extended to all products from the supplier.
The new 13in battery-powered stop flag and compact displays integrate with the Papercast content management system (CMS). They have been developed in response to customer demand in multiple sectors, with a particular tilt towards bus stop flags in Europe and North America.
At their core is Papercast’s in-house advanced e-paper driver circuit board. The technology has allowed power efficiency to be pushed further while still delivering what the supplier describes as “rich and visually striking content” and a maximisation of battery life.
Speaking about the advancement, Papercast CEO Robert Bicket says: “Our team has once again demonstrated our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the public transport industry.
“This remarkable product not only meets, but exceeds the demands of our customers, addressing their unique needs while staying true to our core values of superior design, functionality, performance, and sustainability.”
Papercast adds that e-paper is readable from all angles under direct sunlight. Displays use wireless connectivity to the CMS and can be installed in any location off-grid “in a matter of hours.”
