Hargreaves Coaches of Hebden near Skipton has added its first new bus in the form of an Alexander Dennis Enviro400.
It is in metallic silver to match the remainder of the fleet and gained the operator’s branding soon after arrival. The double-deck will predominantly be used on contracts and private hire work for local schools and has Centrad CCTV equipment throughout.
Hargreaves Coaches will be 115 years old in 2026, having been established in 1911 with horse-drawn carriages. It is still in the founding family’s ownership, with Director Andrew Howick and his son Chris and daughter-in-law Katy being fourth- and fifth-generation descendants.
The operator collected its new Enviro400 from the Alexander Dennis factory in Scarborough. It joins a second-hand example that has been in the fleet for around two years that Chris Howick (pictured, left) says has served well. “That experience has given us the confidence to invest in this beautiful new bus,” he adds.
Adds Katy Howick: “The quality of the bus matches the quality of us as an operator. We have relationships with the local schools going back decades, back to the 70s, and we have always had a really good reputation for quality with them. The new arrival has already gone down well with our customers and local pupils.”
Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Martin Dunleavy (pictured, right) handled the sale. He notes: “It is a pleasure to hand over this bus to the Howick family, who run a beautiful small fleet and do the Yorkshire Dales proud.
