Laguna Travel of Bournemouth has taken delivery of its second Scania Touring HD coach, supplied by Scania (Great Britain). It is also the company’s first to be fitted with a PSVAR-compliant cassette wheelchair lift and destination signs.
The long-established Scania operator took a coach based on the Scania K 410EB 6×2 chassis. It is appointed with 59 reclining seats with three-point safety belts, a DVD player, USB charging points, and a drinks machine. Adding to the exterior are Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels.
A two-year repair and maintenance programme will be managed by Scania Southampton. Driver and technical training is also offered on a complementary basis for 10 years, as is the case with all new coaches sold to Scania’s retail customers. The system records driver and vehicle performance and sends this information back to the operator by email.
“Laguna’s Richard Gwynne was looking to invest in Euro VI and PSVAR, in preparation for next year,” explains Richard Birt, Regional Account Manager for Scania Bus and Coach. “The price and equipment level in our Touring HD matches his requirements perfectly. Mr Gwynne tells us the vehicle has now been working for the last few weeks superbly. It’s great to have such good feedback from our customers.”
