Three new Scanias have joined the Ellesmere Port fleet of Carvers Coaches. They have been sold through an innovatively structured deal that includes the cost of conversion at a later date to comply with PSVAR built into the purchase price.
Two of the new arrivals are Touring models. One of those a 12.1m two-axle example built on a K 360 IB chassis with 51 seats. The other is a 13.9m 59-seater mounted on a tri-axle K 410 EB underframe (pictured, below). Each Touring has a centre sunken toilet and a Frenzel drinks unit, among other fittings.
The third coach is a 12.8m Interlink (pictured, above) that seats 53 with a centre toilet. It is built on the K 410 EB chassis in two-axle form.
Proprietor Mark Carver says that the flexibility of the three new arrivals will give Carvers Coaches “the flexibility we need.” The Tourings are all-rounders, he adds. The Interlink will be used primarily on private hire, longer-distance work and tour activity.
Local dealership Scania Ellesmere Port will deliver a two-year repair and maintenance package. Scania provides such coverage on all new coaches for retail buyers.
“Despite the ongoing effects of coronavirus COVID-19, we believe that it is essential to continue investing in quality vehicles to protect our brand image and the future of the business,” adds Mr Carver.
He adds that the Ellesmere Port dealership has given Carvers “excellent levels of service” in the past. “That, together with the fact that Scania was able to include future PSVAR conversions in the upfront purchase price was a deal clincher.”
