Westbus of Hayes has taken delivery of seven MCV Evotor-bodied Volvo B8R coaches in a return to sourcing products from the Swedish chassis manufacturer.
Each carries 53 passengers. Seats are in a customised moquette with synthetic leather inserts and headrests. Drop-down tables, magazine nets, footrests and USB charging points are also fitted along with a centre sunken toilet. Each coach is PSVAR compliant
Volvo Bus UK and Ireland describes the B8R Evotor combination as one that offers functionality and refinement. Westbus General Manager Tim Miles agrees that the vehicle gives “great value for a premium specification.”
He continues: “The team at Volvo have also been incredible throughout the process, working closely with us to design the corporate, bespoke interior. We are very pleased with the result.
“We have also received great support from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre South and East’s London Heathrow depot and have added peace of mind in knowing that we have access to the extensive Volvo Truck and Bus dealer network.”
The ComfortDelGro subsidiary has already received good customer and driver feedback on the B8R Evotor arrivals. “We are confident that all seven will prove to be valuable additions to the fleet,” Mr Miles concludes.
Power is from the D8K engine developing 350bhp coupled to a 12-speed I-Shift automated manual gearbox.
