Squarepeg Buses has bolstered its Alexander Dennis Enviro200 fleet with the arrival of four examples via the largest investment in new vehicles yet made by the Leeds operator.
They join a pool of over 35 such buses from both the current range and the earlier series. Squarepeg Buses Director Simon Daymond says that the Enviro200 model has performed well for the business.
“Most of them saw initial service with other companies, but the positive experience with an Enviro200 that we bought new from Alexander Dennis in 2018 as well as the excellent AD24 spare parts service encouraged us to return for more,” continues Mr Daymond.
The new buses will be used on services in Leeds provided in partnership with transport authority Metro. Among those are route 9, which links communities in outer parts of the city. Each new Enviro200 has SmartPack fuel efficiency technology.
Speaking about the deal, Alexander Dennis Sales Support Manager Dave Sellars says: “This is a huge investment for a small company that we have been supporting for many years, and we are honoured by the trust that Simon and his team have once again placed in us.
“It is great to see the improvement that these new low-emission buses will deliver for passengers in Leeds.”
