Wilson’s of Rhu has added a pair of Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses its fleet. They are 8.9m examples and in use on the company’s two routes serving Helensburgh.
The newcomers each seat 30 and have replaced an earlier Enviro200 that was delivered to the operator in 2022. They have destination displays and next-stop announcements from Mobitec along with USB charging points.
Wilson’s of Rhu has 12 coaches and buses and is run by second-generation directors Alistair and Kenneth Wilson. Managing Director Alistair Wilson (pictured, left) describes the new Enviro200 pair as a significant upgrade for the operator’s bus services thanks to a number of improved features they bring.
“We have run an Enviro200 on these routes for the last couple of years and it has proved to be a great choice. We are looking forward to our passengers’ reaction to these new buses,” he continues.
“The Alexander Dennis team have supported the purchase every step of the way. Thanks especially to Head of Retail Sales Charlie Miller, a pleasure to deal with as always.
Adds Mr Miller (pictured, centre): “We are very proud and grateful that Alistair and Kenneth have come to us to fulfil their local bus service requirements. After buying their first Alexander Dennis in 2022, it is great that they have returned. The buses look wonderful in the Wilson’s livery.
“They represent an unbelievable effort from our team, who managed to see through some late changes to the specification while still meeting the customer’s delivery expectation. Our procurement and production teams really pulled it out of the bag and everyone is delighted with the results.”
