Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Association, a charity in the city that uses minibuses to collect senior citizens and take them to its three day care centres, is appealing for donations to help it to replace its existing life-expired fleet of vehicles with at least new one.
The Association hopes to raise £35,000 to fund the purchase of a minibus, which it says is imperative because its existing fleet is so old and breaks down often, but it would like to take two new vehicles.
Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, Transport Manager Len Littler says that the existing minibuses have given sterling service, but are now in need of replacement.
The Association has been providing transport for senior citizens for almost 70 years, and it also delivers supplies to houses during bad weather.
