The Band, a new musical written by Take That and featuring their songs, will go on a tour of the UK from September, starting in Manchester
A new musical called The Band, featuring the music of Take That goes on its UK tour from 8 September.
The show, written by Tim Firth and Take That, will open at Manchester Opera House.
Says Take That: "We are incredibly proud and excited that our first production as theatre producers is The Band – a musical that we think will touch the hearts of not just our fans, but everyone."
The musical is about five 16 year-old friends in 1992, who idolise their favourite band – fast forward 25 years later and they are women trying to fulful their dream of meeting their heroes.
It will star AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Yazdan Qafouri Isfahani, Curtis T Johns and Sario Watanabe-Soloman – the winners of the recent TV programme Let It Shine – who will play ‘the band’.
Joining them will be Rachel Lumberg as Rachel and Faye Christall as Young Rachel, Emily Joyce as Heather, Alison Fitzjohn as Claire, Jayne McKenna as Zoe, Katy Clayton as Young Heather, Sarah Kate Howarth as Young Claire, Lauren Jacobs as Young Zoe, Rachelle Diedericks as Debbie, Martin Miller as Jeff and Andy Williams as Dave.
The advance box office for the tour has now topped a record-breaking £10m.
