Abellio has launched a Pride bus in a display of support for Pride and the LGBTQ+ community.
Unveiled by Transport for London (TfL) on 26 June, the Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV will operate on Route 63 between Honor Oak and Kings Cross. It sports a design inspired by the varied experiences of the capital’s LGBTQ+ community and will be at the forefront of London’s Pride parade on 1 July.
Travelling with people representing TfL, the Pride bus will take centre stage and will drive under the banners of the Women, Faith, RACE, Carers, Parent and Guardians, Disability Colleague Network groups, and the OUTbound banner. The demonstration is designed to spotlight the multifaceted nature of London’s LGBTQ+ communities.
TfL is also collaborating with LGBTQ+ celebrities to commemorate Pride in a poster campaign. The series features stories from the LGBTQ+ community alongside those of notable personalities such as London’s Night Czar, Amy Lame, Drag Race’s Bimini, stylist Gok Wan, DJ and writer Nick Grimshaw, and dancer Queen MoJo.
Jon Eardley, Managing Director of Abellio London, says: “At Abellio, we value our people and support them to have the freedom to be themselves. We are deeply honoured to be part of London’s Pride and to celebrate London’s diverse LGBTQ+ community.”
