Alex Jensen has taken over as Chief Executive Officer of National Express UK and Germany.
As announced in July, Ms Jensen was appointed following the departure of Tom Stables, who had been at the helm for 13 years.
She has held several key roles at BP Plc, most recently leading its Convenience and Mobility division across Europe and Southern Africa, accountable for accelerating the shift to low carbon growth across retail service stations and with bus, truck and van fleet operators. She was previously Chief Marketing Officer for BP.
Ms Jensen is currently a non-executive director of Inchcape Plc, the multinational automotive distributor. She is also a board trustee of Mind, the mental health charity.
She says: “What attracts me to Mobico is the purpose and opportunity for growth. I am excited to explore how we can harness innovation to increase mass mobility, drive the transition to zero emissions and build trusted partnerships in the community whilst continuing to deliver excellent service to customers”.
Ignacio Garat, CEO of parent company Mobico Group, says: “Alex is highly customer focused and has a wealth of relevant leadership and transformational experience, and we are delighted to welcome her to the Group. I look forward to working closely with Alex as we continue to be a leader in sustainable transport, playing a role in accelerating modal shift and decarbonising travel in the UK and Germany.”
