All of Optare’s single-deckers, including the Versa, come with xFE software

At this year’s ALBUM conference, to be held in Cardiff between 7-9 May, Allison will present a programme that will allow operator to upgrade their existing T2100 Series transmissions in Alexander Dennis, Optare or Wrightbus vehicles to one of its xFE- equivalent models.

The upgraded transmissions have FuelSense 2.0 software, which the manufacturer says results in “significant savings” in real-life operation over those without it.

FuelSense 2.0 uses a learning algorithm to continuously find the ideal balance of economy and performance for the duty cycle, utilising an infinitely variable combination of shift points.

Advanced FuelSense 2.0 packages include an improves neutral at stop feature and enhanced acceleration rate management. All of Optare’s single-deck buses have xFE technology as standard, including the Versa (pictured}.
