Runcorn-based Anthony’s Travel is celebrating winning the Commitment to the Community award at the Halton Business Awards on Friday 16 June.
The coach operator’s staff were among 400 local business leaders and employees coming together for the 13th annual event at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes.
Managing Partner Richard Bamber says: “We were delighted to win the Commitment to the Community award. It’s a team effort which runs through the heart of the company. As a gesture of thanks, all our team this week receive a token of our appreciation in their wages.”
It was the latest of several community awards collected by Anthony’s Travel over the years. The company gained honours for Corporate Social Responsibility at the High Sheriff of Cheshire Awards in 2011 and 2015 and at the Cheshire Business Awards in 2014, as well as being recognised at the Halton Business Awards in 2017, 2019 and 2023.
The operator was also finalist in the Liverpool Echo Awards in 2018 and Cheshire Business Awards in 2013, and it has been a regular winner in multiple categories at the routeone Awards.
Among its many community endeavours, it has supported Halton Haven Hospice, Victoria Music Group, the Mark Gorry Foundation, the Cathie Stankevitch Foundation and the Thomas Mottershead Statue Appeal.
Mr Bamber adds: “Our community engagement is often used as an example by local authorities and I have been asked to speak at numerous events.”
