Belle Vue is a further coach operator to partner with FlixBus. The Stockport business will commence a daily scheduled service between Manchester and Newcastle via Leeds, Middlesbrough and Sunderland from the end of April.
FlixBus says the work with Belle Vue will “open up a new cross-country corridor in the North of England” and “support customers with more affordable, sustainable and reliable transport options than ever before.” The operator will shortly add a new Neoplan Tourliner in the distinctive FlixBus green livery.
Belle Vue Managing Director Philip Hitchen says that working with FlixBus offers new opportunities for growth, diversification and commercial success.
Adds Mr Hitchen: “We have been following the rise of FlixBus in the UK over the past two years, and we have been impressed by its ambition, rapid success and focus on sustainability. The FlixBus model allows us to diversify and add express services to our existing revenue streams.
“We felt it was a great time to join the FlixBus network, which is showing great promise for growth and profitability in 2023, as well as being on track to become the largest in the UK.”
FlixBus UK MD Andreas Schorling has acknowledged Belle Vue’s status as an award-winning operator and its delivery of high levels of passenger satisfaction, in addition to its appetite for growth.
Mr Schorling says that FlixBus is “passionate about providing green transport for everyone, everywhere” and adds that it has an ambition to connect “all towns and cities in the UK.” Delivery of the new service in the North of England by Belle Vue will also contribute to the levelling up agenda, he claims.
Agreement between FlixBus and Belle Vue represents further expansion of the growing scheduled service network, and quickly follows expanded collaboration with Bristol-based Turners Coachways and Whippet of Cambridgeshire earlier in 2023.
