Berwick coach park opens

A new coach park in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland has opened.

The facility on Chapel Street offers four parking bays and is open daily between 0800-1900hrs. Timer-controlled rising bollards prevent access outside these hours. The coach park is not open to passengers; coaches can drop off on Church Street.

David Laux, Head of Technical Services at Northumberland County Council, says: “Coach operators can bring a big boost to tourism for areas like Berwick and we want to ensure there are good parking facilities near the centre of town.

“We’re pleased to have got the work completed ahead of the main tourist season. The new park works hand-in-hand with the coach drop-off on Church Street provided last year to create more facilities for large groups wishing to visit Berwick.”
