Beverley Bell Consulting and Training yesterday announced the setting up of a new association called the Transport Manager Hub to coincide with the official opening of its new office in London.
Dozens of guests from the HGV and PSV sectors were at the business’s new Westminster base to hear news of the new venture, which will go live in a few weeks’ time.
The Transport Manager Hub is designed to provide support, tools and peer advice to Transport Managers and their staff, help them stay up to date with compliance, and represent their interests.
Beverley Bell Consulting and Training, whose courses include Transport Manager CPC, is working with fellow consultancy and training company Flagship Partners on the hub project.
Beverley Bell, founder and Chief Executive, says: “I don’t think there is a creditable association for Transport Managers. We have trade associations, we have professional membership associations, but they are quite broad and I don’t think there is anyone to cater just for Transport Managers.”
Ms Bell, a former Senior Traffic Commissioner, is concerned about the sometimes poor quality of information available to Transport Managers.
The Transport Manager Hub will also “address the issue of a lack of recognition of the importance of their role”, says the business.
Beverley Bell Consulting and Training, which already has offices in Newport on the Isle of Wight, and Chorley, will share its London base with existing occupants Confederation of Passenger Transport, Society of Operations Engineers and RHA.
“The office brings us closer to more of our clients whom we work with,” says Ms Bell, a former President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
“While we will always deliver bespoke courses at our client’s premises, this new office gives us more options to meet clients and learners centrally, deliver in-person sessions, and provide practical support to continue helping teams make roads safer and operations stronger.”
The business, which was established in 2017, has also announced the appointment of Laura Thomas as Director of Risk and Compliance. Ms Thomas was Deputy Traffic Commissioner from 2017 to 2025.
The firm adds: “Laura’s career as a barrister, partner in a law firm, and work in senior executive safety and risk roles in industry are the perfect combination to equip her to address clients’ issues in their daily operations, long before they might have to face the regulators.”
Managing Director Alison Moriarty has taken on a new role of Director of Risk and Operations. “Alison and Laura look forward to working together to drive the growth and development of the business to expand the services that will be provided to clients,” says Beverley Bell Consulting and Training.
