Cheshire East Council is to axe or cut a raft of supported bus routes, to save £1m. However, changes after consultation mean that it will miss its savings target by £576,000. The changes come into force in April. There is criticism of the council’s decision to charge £2.50 for concessionary pass holders on its Little Bus dial-a-ride service; currently free.
