Women in Bus and Coach will mark International Women’s Day on 7 March at an event in London entitled “Trailblazing Women in the Bus and Coach Sector – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.

Featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, the free event at Transport for London’s (TfL) headquarters will spotlight trailblazing women in the industry.

A panel on Ā “The opportunities and challenges for Women in the Bus and Coach Profession”, hosted by Candice Mason, Director of Masons Coach and Minibus Hire, will include Alex Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of National Express. Lisa Dipnarine, Senior Zero-Emission Bus Development Manager – Bus Operations at TfL, Laura Hill, Asset andĀ  Performance Manager at Metroline, and Go-Ahead bus driver Rachael Ayegba will take park in that session.

Louise Cheeseman, Chair of Women in Bus and Coach, which was set up in November 2023, will introduce the evening. The event will begin by highlighting Mary Curry, who began driving buses for Hants & Dorset in 1973 and retired from the industry in 2019, aged 80.

The “Tomorrow” presentation will feature Francesca Hand, Operations Manager at Flix UK.
