Dealership marks successful first year of the new model with well-spec’d, limited Edition 1 variant
EvoBus (UK) will show an example of an Edition 1 Mercedes-Benz Tourismo at Euro Bus Expo (EBE) this week, with the limited-number variant having been created to celebrate a successful first year of the new model.
The coach on display at EBE is a seed vehicle. It is a 13m, two-axle M/2 variant finished in Tonic Silver. 10 further Edition 1 Tourismos are available in a mixture of M/2 and 14m tri-axle L form.
All come with a unique look when compared to a standard model. It includes a brushed stainless steel front grille, and a side and rear window line that looks different thanks to the addition of a black vinyl that extends from the roof to the lower panels.
Additionally, all Edition 1 coaches come with a digital services package made up of OmniPlus On and OmniPlus Uptime. Together, they monitor the vehicle and transmit information on any faults that are detected to a central server. They also inform the driver of the need to visit to a maintenance facility.
Edition 1 Tourismos also come with a repair and maintenance package. “The keys to Edition 1 are the look of the coach, the prestige of it being limited in number and the digital services that come with it, all for one price,” says EvoBus (UK) Director Mercedes-Benz Sales Marcus Watts.
“The OmniPlus On and OmniPlus Uptime package focuses on predictive and preventative maintenance. The coach that will be at EBE gives an indication of what is possible on the Tourismo range.”
One particularly unusual aspect of the Edition 1 is a photographic replica of a second grille. It is affixed to the nearside of the bonnet to complement the genuine offside opening.
