First South Yorks drivers to strike over two days

Drivers at First South Yorkshire (FSY) are set to hold two 24-hour strikes, starting at 0200hrs on Saturdays 27 July and 3 August.

The stoppages are related to a pay offer that has been rejected. Union Unite says that 69% of drivers balloted voted for strike action.

Regional Officer Phil Brown claims that parent company First Group is “awash with cash”. However, FSY’s most recent accounts show that it made an operating loss of £2.2m on a turnover of £62.4m.
