Flix has announced it has integrated its timetable with ChatGPT, enabling travellers to retrieve journey planning information through natural conversation.
The development from the parent business of FlixBus allows users to discover coach journeys in the UK, as well as on Flix’s coach and train networks in more than 40 countries globally.
Those seeking to travel using the brand can do so via AI on this link, or through ChatGPT by selecting “Apps” and searching for FlixBus.
For example, asking “Find me trips from London to Birmingham tomorrow lunchtime” will bring up appropriate departures with timetable and price information, along with links to buy tickets. The chatbot could also answer such questions as “What is the fastest journey from London to Cardiff on July 1?”
Timetable information for all 8,000 of Flix’s destinations in Europe, North America, Türkiye, South America and Asia-Pacific has been integrated.
“As travellers increasingly look for simpler and smarter ways to plan trips, conversational AI is becoming a natural part of the travel experience,” says Daniel Krauss, co-founder and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Flix. “By bringing Flix into ChatGPT, we are making affordable and sustainable collective travel more accessible to millions of users globally.”
It can respond in any language Flix supports and automatically direct customers to the booking domain for their market.
