FlixBus UK has said that it sees services to and from Wales as “a key growth area” after it agreed its first partnership with a coach operator from the country in Bella Road Services. The Pontyclun firm will join FlixBus’s existing provision in Wales via the operation of scheduled services between London, Heathrow Airport and Cardiff, with a new stop in Newport, from 27 May.
Bella Road Services has been operating since 2016. CEO Sergio Alves says the Rhondda Cynon Taf business is “extremely proud to be selected for this partnership with FlixBus.”
He adds: “We are taking seriously our responsibility to ensure that FlixBus customers get the best coach travel experience possible. We have seen what FlixBus has achieved around the globe and are excited to join the network at this early stage to help support the same growth in the UK.
“Our family run company is growing rapidly thanks to our amazing team. They are the front line of our business and they have stepped up to help us grow at pace.”
Bella Road Services is the fourth coach operator to be confirmed as a new FlixBus UK partner within the last month. Others are Berrys Coaches and Roselyn Coaches for a service between London and Plymouth, and Hearn’s Coaches. Anglo-Scottish provision has also increased recently via an existing partnership with McGill’s Buses.
Says FlixBus UK Managing Director Andreas Schörling: “Bella Road Services has quickly established itself as an ambitious and high-quality coach operator, so we are really excited to develop the partnership as we continue to invest in Wales as a key growth area on the network.
“With summer just around the corner, and with it increased consumer demand, our strategy to add key partners on our network has been successful to reinforce our intention to become the UK’s leading coach brand. The partnership with Bella Road Services marks an important moment as we position ourselves as a contender in yet another market.”
