Leading European onboard infotainment systems developer GoMedia has announced FirstGroup-owned Greyhound as its first North American customer.
GoMedia has launched its onboard platform with Icomera, Greyhound’s onboard wi-fi provider, on the operator’s coach fleet. It provides passengers with access to the latest Hollywood blockbusters, TV boxsets and more.
Says GoMedia CEO Matt Seaman: “Our launch in the US market comes off the back of our success in the UK and Europe, where we have worked with some of the continent’s leading transport providers to increase passenger satisfaction.”
As well as delivering the onboard wi-fi technology, Icomera will host the GoMedia infotainment content as a virtual application on its high-performance mobile access and app router. That eliminates the need for additional hardware such as a dedicated media server.
Adds Magnus Friberg, Senior Vice-President of Icomera’s activities in the Americas: “By working with GoMedia to provide premium entertainment, the passenger experience will evolve and push further ahead of the curve.

In the UK, GoMedia’s customers include National Express and Abellio.
