Liqui Moly reduces engine wear, increases life

The three products are each suited for diesel engines of varying ages

Liqui Moly offers three products that are designed to cut engine wear and increase the unit’s service life.

Oil Additive is designed for use in older vehicles. It was the first product from Liqui Moly when the company was founded in 1957 and it contains additive MoS2, a solid lubricant similar to graphite.

MoS2 forms a protective layer on metal surfaces, preventing direct contact between adjacent components. That is particularly important when the engine is first started and before oil has fully circulated.

Motor Protect accomplishes the same function chemically. It contains friction modifiers, which have a smoothing effect. Motor Protect is suitable for state-of-the-art engines.

Finally, Cera Tec combines both of the above strategies. It, too, contains friction modifiers for chemical protection and it also has solid lubricants for physical protection in the form of microscopic ceramic particles that are so small they can pass through the oil filter.
