Signalling a clear intent to be an ‘all-round’ operator, Lothian Buses’ new coaching arm has added two new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibuses to its fleet, offering luxury transport for small corporate groups and private hire.
The UK’s largest municipal launched subsidiary Lothian Motorcoaches on 1 June with a fleet of 18 vehicles including five new 14m tri-axle Plaxton Panthers, in charcoal grey. The bespoke coaches have 61 seats in a charcoal version of Lothian’s moquette.
They are supported by three fully-refurbished Van Hool Acrons in the same livery and specification.
For shorter transfers, for example from cruise ships, 10 Wrights Gemini B9TL double-deck buses have been brought up to coach specification, including a refit with high-back seats with belts.
The Sprinters have been fitted to a superior standard including wi-fi, USB charging points, refrigerator, privacy glass and 18 full-leather seats with arm rests and luggage racks.
Willie Hamilton Coaching and Tours Manager says: “As our business continues to grow, it is important that we invest in our fleet to ensure we are driving innovation and continued high standards as well a varied range of options for our discerning customers.”
