MacPhails Coaches of Salsburgh and Westway Coach Services of West Molesey have completed a trio of further new members to join the Guild of British Coach Operators.
MacPhails and Westway sit alongside Berrys Coaches of Taunton as the most recent successful applicants to the Guild. Each operator has completed an exacting independent audit that covered driver and engineering compliance, vehicle presentation, and quality of customer service. Their arrival with the Guild takes its total membership to 23.
Guild Chairman Anthony Winson (pictured, third from right), Director of Paul S Winson Coaches, welcomed Berrys, MacPhails and Westway at a recent members’ meeting. They follow Belle Vue Manchester into the fold, with the North West England business having taken its place in late 2023.
Speaking about the further new members, Mr Winson says: “We are delighted to bring such longstanding and high-quality operators into the Guild.
“Guild membership brings with it a responsibility to maintain the very highest standards, and the benefits of sharing best practice and mutual assistance. We very much look forward to working together.”
The January meeting saw MacPhails Coaches Director Martin MacPhail (pictured, left); Westway Coach Services Director David West (second from left) and Transport Manager Ron Gent (third from left); and Berrys Coaches Directors James Berry (second from right) and Stuart Berry (right) represent their respective businesses.
Guild of British Coach Operators Administrator Steve Whiteway adds that some further potential members are in hand as the scheme looks towards its 40th anniversary in 2025.
