Macpherson Coaches, Donisthorpe, has become part of nearby Roberts Travel Group in Hugglescote, Leicestershire.
Roberts has taken on the forward private hire, tours and day trip bookings, along with some of the assets (four vehicles) and most of the staff.
The moves comes as MD Neil Macpherson has decided to exit the business after a difficult period of trading.
The move protects customer bookings and ensure a smooth transition, meaning it’s business as usual.
With 75 vehicles and 150 staff, it cements Roberts’ position as one of the region’s leading operators.
Macphersons, a long-running family coach holiday and hire business, has been providing quality services since 1986.
Started by Neil’s father, Harry Macpherson, in 1986 as a retirement business, it gradually grew and was a member of the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) and a member of its bonding scheme.
