The impact of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) on conventional public transport will be examined at an event to be held at the Inmarsat Conference Centre in London on 20 and 21 March entitled The role of vertical transport providers.
Amid growing evidence of traditional transport operators losing out to new mobility providers, particularly in urban areas, a panel session will debate the potential and actual benefits and pitfalls of participating in MaaS platforms.
Patrick Warner, Head of Innovation Strategy at Go-Ahead Group subsidiaries Brighton and Hove Buses and Metrobus will assess the likely impact of MaaS on bus services at the conference.
Mr Warner will be joined by at the session by representatives of a taxi operator and multimodal transport solution provider Keolis.
Other sessions will consider the impact of digitalised transport, including MaaS, on city authorities’ ability to manage and police transport.
