All 11 National Express UK bus garages have been recognised for excellence by the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE).

The operator’s depots in central Birmingham, Acocks Green, Yardley Wood, Bordesley Green, Perry Barr, West Bromwich, Pensnett, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Dundee all qualified for the IRTE Certification Award after thorough auditing.

Birmingham Central’s John Parker says: “I’m really proud of the team. The FTA don’t just give these awards away.

“Our engineers really do have to perform at the highest level to gain this level of recognition. To achieve this award, we are independently assessed in a number of key engineering areas such tooling, systems, training records and calibration.”
