National Express has announced it has achieved ISO 45001 health and safety certification from the British Assessment Bureau.

The certification is an international standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system.

National Express says meeting the standard shows its commitment to keeping colleagues, contractors and customers safe across its scheduled coach network.

The British Assessment Bureau’s independent audit of procedures found zero nonconformities, says the operator.

Javier Martinez Prieto, Managing Director for National Express UK Coach, says: “The ISO 45001 certification marks a significant milestone in our efforts to continually improve health and safety across our organisation and reflects the hard work that our teams put in to keep safety at the heart of everything that we do.

“Operating the UK’s biggest scheduled coach network means that we have hundreds of vehicles on the road each day, with many colleagues and partners helping to maintain the highest levels of safety and performance that we are known for.

“This certification affirms our commitment to protecting our people and maintaining the highest industry standards while providing the many thousands of safe, reliable services that we deliver every single day.”

Tom Crockford, Chief Operations Officer for British Assessment Bureau parent business Amtivo, adds:

“Achieving ISO 45001 highlights an organisation’s dedication to excellence and continual improvement and this certification reinforces National Express’ commitment to excellence, continual improvement and meeting internationally recognised standards.”
