Transdev Blazefield has appointed Rebecca Reeve-Burnett as its first Vamooz Sales and Operations Manager.
Vamooz is an app-based crowdfunding project being pioneered by Transdev, which will be launched later this month.
Rebecca will work with schools, colleges and other organisations to build partnerships ahead of the launch.
Transdev CEO Alex Hornby says: “We needed someone who would embrace the concept and be an ambassador for Vamooz – and I’m pleased to say Rebecca fits the bill perfectly.
“With her wealth of experience in politics and economics as well as transport, Rebecca is the ideal person to lead this pioneering initiative for our industry and the thousands of people who travel across the North.”
Vamooz will seek individual customers to crowdfund regular services to specific destinations, such as schools and business parks that may not lie conveniently on the existing bus networks.
Day trips will also be available to sports venues, shopping parks, festivals and events.
Payment is made via the app, and the final price for all customers decreases as more people commit to travelling.
