Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) has taken delivery of two Mercedes-Benz Sprinters with coachbuilt, low-floor Strata bodywork, supplied by Mellor Coachcraft (01706 860610) and accompanying four Fiat Ducato-based Orion Pluses.
The PSVAR-compliant Stratas each have a rapid-sliding Ventura door along with Mobitec destination equipment, and an Eberspächer heater. They seat 21 passengers, or 18 plus one wheelchair user.
NCC Fleet Operations Manager Andy Frogg says: “The Stratas have been accepted well by our drivers and the customers who use them. They cover around 1,000 miles per week and average just over 20mpg.”
