Pelican Engineering, the dealer for Yutong battery-electric coaches and buses in the UK, has launched ‘Team Zero’, a network for zero-emission coach and bus operators.
The group, Pelican says, is designed to support best practice during the sector’s shift to greener transport and demonstrates the importance of co-operation between manufacturers and vehicle operators.
The network was launched at a special event in Glasgow ahead of COP26. Yutong and Pelican engineering directors attended the launch alongside representatives of eight leading public transport operators.
The network will provide a forum for coach and bus operators to learn from one another, and Pelican says it will provide updates and host workshops to keep customers “abreast of the latest developments”.
“We have been working on developing a collaborative platform for our zero emission passenger vehicle customers for some time,” says Head of Yutong Bus UK at Pelican Ian Downie. “The network will bring together our customers across England, Wales and Scotland with the intention of supporting their move to clean passenger transport technology.”
Pelican, which reported record growth in 2021, will have 200 Yutong zero-emission vehicles in service in the UK by the end of the year.
