Over the last 11 years, Rabbie’s has shown its commitment to sustainable travel and environmental protection with its range of “positive initiatives”.
The Scottish firm taxes itself £10 for every tonne of CO2 it uses, which is then donated to a community or environmental project chosen by staff members.
“With this ‘we can always do more’ attitude the company’s self-taxation effort contributed over £120,000 to various charities and environmental organisations across the UK,” it says.
As well as encouraging its staff to volunteer as much as possible, the team has built paths that have eroded and cleaned plastic from beaches.
There are also a number of office-based environmental activities such as recycling and re-using where possible, low-energy lighting, using recycled and bio-degradable products, and partnering with companies with strong environmental credentials.
By operating in fuel-efficient vehicles departing from centrally located departure points, Rabbie’s avoids contributing to local congestion and pollution levels, says the firm.
